when i try to replace an image and get to the section titled: "The part of the image you see in the highlighted area will be displayed on your site. You can move this region around or resize it for optimal placement."... it has a broken image icon and i cannot continue. any ideas?

can you try deleting and re-uploading the image in the library?

Ahh that's likely the issue :/ shorten the filename. Really annoying bug. It's on the fix list.
