   I've enabled the "Publish Server Side Includes" labs feature. I've defined my editable regions in the user control. The region is editable and I'm able to go in and make my changes. I can publish these changes and they show up within pagelime on the page. However once viewed in another tab, the changes do not show nor has the file actually been edited on the server when I check it via FTP.

   Is this feature actually working correctly with ASCX pages? Is there something I'm missing here? Seems pretty straightforward but the publish is not actually editing the usercontrol file.

   Should work. Can you paste the <%@ Control %> piece of the code here so I can see how you reference said controls in your files. How is your file structure set up?

   Trying to edit a user control on a page within academics/default.aspx

   <%@ Page Title="" Language="VB" MasterPageFile="~/site.master" AutoEventWireup="false" CodeFile="default.aspx.vb" Inherits="academics_default" %>

   The reference to the usercontrol in academics/default.aspx - <Site:Academics ID="ucacademics" runat="server" />

   The user control we wish to be updated is located in user-controls/academics-left-nav.ascx

   <%@ Control Language="VB" AutoEventWireup="false" CodeFile="academics-left-nav.ascx.vb" Inherits="user_controls_academics_left_nav" %>

   I'm thinking it's probably something to do with the fact that I'm using a master page and then editing a page within that masterpage with a usercontrol in it. Has this setup ever been tested before?

   Figured out the problem - we had controls & includes defined in the web.config - pulled those out and moved to top of pages and were able to then publish to the user controls.
